Title: Home Security through IoT

Abstract: 

Internet of Things transfer data without human to human and human to machine communication. This project based on IoT for Home Security. Home security has been identified as one of an important issue in today’s life. Cases of home burglary continue to arise daily. Existing home security systems faces drawback to home users where certain flaws occurred in the system such as not web-supported, lack of dynamic features and difficult to handle.

My Investigation and references:

In my research, I would like to propose a system in which enabled security system will be using door sensors, motion sensors and image processing technique like change detection. The change in images will automatically trigger the images to the owner of the house. The system is controlled by Raspberry Pi-3 which is a WI-FI enabled device. And its processing power can be used for processing the data collected by sensors and image processing. 

Home Automation: 

It refers to control and automating air conditioning, Lighting, heating, ventilation, and security. As well as all the home appliances including dryers, ovens or refrigerators that use WiFi for remote monitoring.

The components of a well-designed home automation system include a computer with the appropriate programming, the various devices and systems to be controlled, interconnecting cables or wireless links, a high-speed Internet connection, and an emergency backup power source for the computer and the essential home systems.

Home security can be produced in the home itself. But, in order to do so, we need some sensors that are essential for us to read the data. We are fortunate to leave in a world where many sensors are available for the common man. One can collect and process the data transmitted by the sensors through the Pi. In order to build a Home Automation system one should have a basic knowledge in electrical circuits and computer programming.
